Music with a Spirit

... moves body and mind!

The Syanna Project:

Decades of commitment result in a lifestyle where music meets personal evolution.

It's an ever ongoing process.

The Spiritual factor

is the major ingredient of my music.
You might just feel the vibes, even if you're not listening carefully!

The Unexpected...

I believe that music, composed with the best of intentions, can bring about changes on a deeper level.

The Dance factor

Dance. Let yourself go. Feel the vibes! Can you imagine of a better way to move body AND mind?

Why a Project ?

Creation = inspiration + technical skills. They form one solid unity:

1. Syanna : composer and singer/songwriter

The major drive behind my music is the spiritual factor. Everytime I connect to my source of inspiration,  the flow kicks in. I transform what I receive, it's as simple as that.

Even if the theme is crystal clear in my mind, I need to transform it into music and lyrics. I sometimes have the feeling that something on a higher level is interfering... and I'm not really aware of it.

Unexpected reactions occur on a regular basis. It can happen anytime: while composing, listening or dancing. It took me a while to understand how music affects this part of ourselves we barely know. But the emotions tell it all.

Our subconscious mind grasps what the mind cannot perceive... and reacts in a way that doesn't always make sense.
Lots of songs have a mysterious effect on the mind. Could it be that my compositions only serve my own evolution? Or is there something more to it?

2. The Project : all the other stuff

My technical side is already taking over during the creative process: dance music does need a lot of tweaking and fine-tuning.

I often look for gear or plugins that could make life easier. But I also have to get acquainted with the way they work.

Graphics are indispensable: they add value to a website and everything else. Again, imagination is the secret. Could AI ever be capable to put on paper what the mind invents?

'Electronic dance' is my main genre, but varies depending on the mood I'm in and the message.
Here's an interesting thought: whenever I return to the past, I can breathe life into my older tracks... I am the owner of a vast collection of unpublished material ;-)
I initially started with pop-rock, did some ethereal stuff (the song 'Chaos' is a nice example), then made tracks with a dance-beat. 'White Sky' was composed for a documentary about the recovery of a WW-II airplane.

Composed with the technology of today, my music sounds quite actual. But the echoes of the past are very present in my tracks.

Impossible to predict when changes will occur. I'm very much into dance, but am slowly making the switch to melodic Techno. I fell in love with the pumping rhythms and mesmerising basslines of the genre. This is definitely something I hàve to try!

As far as I'm concerned, every element of human existence is in place:

Past - Present - Future.

Are you curious about the songs, the messages? Just give it a go. You never know if something attracts YOUR attention!

Invisible

The 5th dimension is approaching. There's only one problem: it's invisible...

A Long Way

We've come a long way. And there's still so much to do! Wars and violence reign once again, but we stay firmly on the chosen path.

Finally!

The signs are everywhere: the world as we knew it, is slowly coming to an end. Seemingly beyond salvation, hope is glimmering on the horizon. Finally!

My most important gear

Digital audio workstation:

Apple Macbook Pro 16" M4 max

This is my most important piece of kit. A delight to work with! It's fast and beautiful.

I don't regret having bought this suberp piece of technology: it literally handles everything!

Sound stuff:

Yamaha MG10XU Mixing panel :

A small but powerful allrounder. It's not only a mixing panel, but also an external soundcard. It works perfectly with Logic.

My Adam A7 studio speakers may be a slightly outdated, they still sound very okay to my ears.

My recently bought Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro headphones are considered to be THE standard in music production.

Other important stuff:

Novation Launchkey mk 2

Why put a weighty, full-size synth on your desk if this tiny thing does the job? Its ultra-compact size makes everything so much lighter! I also like the coloured tiles a lot.

It even fits under my computer keyboard when not in use: neat!
